ESET positions Small Business Security for small businesses with five to 25 device seats. It combines device protection with ESET HOME for an overview and subscription management. It mainly suits manageable offices without extensive central security management. If you need detailed policies, central analysis or additional business features, compare an appropriate ESET PROTECT option separately.
Check devices and servers separately
The offer includes solutions for Windows, macOS, Android and supported Windows servers. Features differ considerably: workstation software is not the same application as ESET Safe Server. The manufacturer lists Windows Server 2019 or later for Safe Server. That does not automatically cover an existing NAS or Linux server.
Selected functions such as VPN are available for iPhone and iPad, but not a full security solution like the Windows one. Before buying, record each device's operating system, version and role, not just the total number. Clarify how virtual servers and multiple instances count towards the licence.
Useful features and their limits
The Windows version includes phishing protection, safer banking, a firewall, LiveGuard and data encryption. ESET also advertises VPN and router VPN. Not every function is available in the same form on every platform. Windows ARM has its own feature list. Check a router's VPN client support rather than assuming universal compatibility.
ESET HOME provides an overview of devices and subscriptions. It is not equivalent to ESET PROTECT's extensive security management. Decide who will handle alerts and whether basic per-device reports are sufficient for the business.
A practical licence-planning example
A small office first lists four Windows workstations, one MacBook, two Android phones and a Windows file server. This inventory is not yet a binding order quantity: the treatment of servers, VPN entitlements and available licence variants must be confirmed in the offer. Employees' private devices should not be included silently; an agreed workplace policy is needed.
Evaluate costs and alternatives
Compare the same device count and term. Check taxes, initial purchase versus renewal, later costs and automatic renewal. A low introductory price says little about total costs. This page does not quote an unverified current euro price; check the specific Austrian offer before ordering.
Do not simply choose the largest package. HOME Security or NOD32 may suit a single private computer. A business needing central policies, more detailed reporting or additional server and cloud capabilities should assess a suitable business solution. Write down the required features before comparing prices.
Introduce it with a controlled pilot
First test the solution on a noncritical supported device. Check sign-in, updates, necessary applications and security alerts. Follow manufacturer guidance when replacing existing security software; do not run competing real-time scanners together without checking compatibility. Access protection, operating-system updates, backups and recovery tests remain separate tasks.

Is every server protected? No. Platform, version, server role and licence must fit. Windows Server support is not a promise of support for Linux or every NAS.
