If you have purchased a PC used or taken over by a colleague, so
are the user and company name of the predecessor still in Windows
registered. But you can use this data with an intervention in the registry
amend:
- Start the Registration Editor via Start – All programmes – Accessories – Executions (WIN+<R>).
- Give the command regedit enter and press <Return>.
- Go to the HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion folder.
- In the right window you can see the information RegisteredOrganization and RegisteredOwner change.
- Click double-enter the key and enter the desired username ()RegisteredOwner) and company name (RegisteredOrganization)
- After a click, OK the changes become active and your name is displayed as the owner.
