After the scanner had performed its service reliably and with excellent image quality for 4 years (2 years under XP and 2 years under Vista each 32bit version), I switched my operating system to Win7 Ultimate 64bit.
And scared of that, I realized that there were no 64bit drivers for him. On request by e-mail, at Canon, I got the message that there will no longer be a 64bit driver because this product is an outdated model.
Canon’s product support had answered my email within 12 hours.
The only thing I have to complain about this scanner is the warm-up time of the scanner lamp (about 3min).
Since this model is no longer in the trade, I can and do not have to make a purchase recommendation.
A tip for Win7 Ultimate 64bit users.
In XP mode you can still use the device.
Based on some comments, I just wanted to correct that this is a really excellent scanner. I did not want to count the great technical data and function again, as 25 users have already done this before me.
This report should only serve to inform users who are looking for a used scanner that there are no 64bit drivers for current 64bit Windows operating systems or that there will be more because Canon has discontinued driver support and sales of this device.
