Due to deep dissatisfaction with my Lexmark „All in One“ printer, a new printer had to be found.
(Follow I will compare the Kyocera with my inkjet printers, the Lexmark X3450)
My main annoyance with my inkjet printer was above all the price, you could print almost 100 pages before the printer demanded a new cartridge and that at a single price of over 20€ for the smallest!!! Furthermore, the cartridges of Lexmark were coded with a chip, refilling was excluded.
I have long been toying with a laser printer because it should work economically, but the high acquisition costs would oppose this. I looked on ebay and found countless Kyoceras in the immediate purchase for 40,00€, I wondered of course and informed myself. Apparently, the companies take out their printers after they are written off and sell them on ebay, among other things.
With a slightly flat feeling in the stomach, I buy one in the immediate purchase, aware that I could fall on the nose, but the entire printer cost less than a set of new cartridges for the Lexmark (black / color)
When the printer came and I connected it I had some problems with the driver on Windows XP and did not get it installed there, I do not know what I did wrong, but I do not want to blame the error 100% because I am not exactly an idiot in PC things. Be that as it may…
However, I switched to Windows 7 anyway and Windows immediately looked for the right driver and installed the printer within seconds and since then I have only fun with the printer:
It takes him a few seconds to print the first sheet but then hesitates, the quality I can not distinguish from an inkjet printer. Everything is clear and clear, even s/w photos are in good quality.
The best part, however, is the cost I got the printer with a 25% full toner, have since printed more than 500 sheets and the thing has just gone down to 15% and not with the original toner but from a cheap replacement toner.
If I need a new toner there is the on ebay for under 20€ incl. Shipping!
Conclusion: The printer is incredibly economical, prints in good quality, the toners are dirt cheap and it is fast. The best printer decision of my life ;-
