Vienna (pts012/08.04.2013/12:15) – After Windows 8, SCOTTY is now also available for free in the Windows Phone Marketplace. ÖBB’s mobile route planner provides comprehensive information on all public transport in Austria. With the app, Windows Phone users also have all timetables in Austria at their fingertips and benefit from the extensive information offered by ÖBB.
After the launch of SCOTTY a few weeks ago, the ÖBB Roadmap app now also makes the jump to the screen of Windows Phone. SCOTTY is the mobile route planner of ÖBB and offers a comprehensive information service on all public transport in Austria. Thanks to the networking of all timetables in Austria, Windows Phone users also have access to all important travel information at any time – and in their own pocket. At the push of a button, SCOTTY calculates the optimal journey by train, bus, tram, subway and ship.

SCOTTY at a glance: All features of the app
The homepage of the app has three selection areas „schedule“, „departures“ and „nearby“ and also shows the previous history. Users who are already „on the way“ will find the fastest route into their own four walls with the function „Home“ in the app. If you search for a connection, you first get a list, from which you can then select the detailed view. The „Departures“ show all means of transport for a station that will soon depart, including bus, Bim and subway (if available). „Nearby“ shows all stations around the current location (if the use of the location is approved); This function can also be changed later in the settings.
In the Windows Phone app there are other functions, based on the screen of the smartphone. Compared to the Windows 8 app, the Windows Phone app also supports some live tiles and can access the address book, so you can directly specify a contact as a destination. This behavior can be controlled in the settings, as well as the use of position data.
The purchase of online tickets is not yet supported in the current version of the Windows Phone app, but should be possible in the medium term.
