New version of OPNET AppInternals Xpert
Vienna (pts012/09.04.2013/10:30) – Riverbed Technology, the application performance company, has developed OPNET AppInternals Xpert® 8.5, a unified suite for application performance management (APM), offering a complete insight into the performance of complex multi-tier applications from browser to backend database. End-user experience monitoring, code-level transaction tracking and application and system performance metrics monitoring provide support staff and developers with the information they need to identify and fix application performance issues faster.
Business performance today increasingly depends on application performance, such as CRM systems, the development of new products, the automation of business processes or the execution of mission-critical tasks. With increasing importance, however, such applications are becoming increasingly complex. Riverbed performance management solutions address this complexity to ensure the application performance that users and businesses need.
What’s New: Features of OPNET AppInternals Xpert 8.5
With the new features in OPNET AppInternals Xpert 8.5, support teams and developers have information to quickly identify and fix performance issues in complex multi-tier applications. Applications can even be analysed before deployment and bottlenecks identified that could affect productive performance. In addition, OPNET AppInternals Xpert 8.5 integrates with other Riverbed solutions, such as the Riverbed Stingray® Traffic Manager.
Support for an integrated development environment
OPNET AppInternals Xpert can be used with popular integrated development environments (IDE), such as Microsoft Visual Studio and Eclipse. Thus, applications can be examined down to the code level. This not only unifies troubleshooting, but also improves collaboration between operations and development teams. For example, the operations team can go through transaction tracking to the affected code to mark the error-causing components for developers. These in turn can program error-free updates if they know where and by whom the code is used in the production environment.
Integrated monitoring of end-user experience
In OPNET AppInternals Xpert 8.5, end-user experience monitoring is closely linked to transaction tracking and application data. This makes it possible to precisely locate the transaction responsible for poor response time behavior and detect errors from the perspective of the user. Monitoring the end user experience of web- and cloud-based applications is done automatically using JavaScript, AppInternals agents or the Stingray Traffic Manager, an application delivery controller that can create custom functions and implement unique traffic management policies.
Transaction Trace Warehouse (TTW)
The new edition also extends the APM Big Data concept of OPNET AppInternals Xpert. Application support and developers gain access to raw data and performance metrics for fast and efficient analysis. OPNET AppInternals Xpert documents and indexes all applications transactions through its Transaction Trace Warehouse (TTW). The critical data is thus available for each recorded transaction. A simple, powerful search engine that identifies every single transaction speeds up troubleshooting. Their automation is accomplished through a tool that uncovers the cause-and-effect relationships in thousands of transactions and performance data from multiple application layers. Patented analysis functions act as an early warning system, automatically identifying unusual patterns for thousands of performance indicators.
Availability
OPNET AppInternals Xpert 8.5 is now available via OPNET retail.
