Greifensee (pts031/10.04.2013/13:00) – For the eighth time, tech-savvy music lovers meet in the rustic Greifensee Palace, 15 kilometres east of Zurich. The exhibition of high-end music systems in medieval walls has become an insider tip among audiophiles, because nowhere can music systems be compared so stylish and relaxing.
The specialist dealers and manufacturers who exhibit in the castle take different approaches to audiophile happiness. But they are with the same enthusiasm and show off devices with their own character. Among them are also some Swiss manufacturers. Thematic focal points are high-resolution music streaming, active loudspeakers, sound screens and complete systems from a single source.
In lectures on Sunday, the experienced sound masters Adi Tosetto (Sound Studio Audioworks) and Daniel Dettwiler (Sound Studio Idea and Sound) provide insights into their work on the basis of numerous music examples. About different recordings and their quality, namely that of the Beatles, reports the music reviewer and editor-in-chief of Home-Electronics, Lothar Brandt.
Records are not only discussed and presented: music collectors will find a record exchange, limited CD and vinyl boxes as well as exclusive photographs of jazz and rock icons from the 60s.
Live music is also programmed: On Saturday evening after the exhibition, bandoneonist Marcelo Nisinman and guitarist Friedemann Wuttke and the Casals Quartet will play an exquisite mix of Tangos by Astor Piazzolla and classic works by Mozart and Haydn.
In addition to the good music, Wein & Co provide the well-stocked bar and delicious sandwiches. If the April weather still means well and finally provides for the long-awaited sun and warmth, then the trip to the Greifensee becomes even more a soul flatterer.
