Technical innovation meets innovative event format
Vienna (pts006/16.04.2013/08:00) – The Austrian Computer Society (OCG) loads from 26.-27. April 2013 as part of a young event format for the substantive exchange and discussion about the technical innovation, the Rasperry Pi. http://www.ocg.at/raspberry-pi-barcamp )
The Raspberry Pi, a single-board computer from the UK, is available in version B since autumn 2012. The team around computer scientist Eben Upton developed this simple computer for use in schools. The background to his development was the fear that children are increasingly attracted to computer users and can no longer see themselves as their designers due to the complexity of the devices they grow up with. The simple technology of Raspberry Pi is used both in the industrial sector and by private users.
The Barcamp as an open conference enables content and process to be flexible and according to the requirements and with contributions of the participants. The main topics around the Raspberry Pi were roughly defined in advance:
* The Raspberry Pi for School and Education
* tinkering with the Raspberry Pi
* The Raspberry Pi for automation
Raspberry Pi and Physical Computing (Arduino)
* The Raspberry Pi and the Maker scene

Participation in the Barcamp is free of charge. Online registration and sending of abstracts with max. 1000 characters (incl. spaces) at http://www.ocg.at/raspberry-pi-barcamp . It is also possible to participate in the Barcamp without submitting an abstract.
