Connecting Software: Jumping into Silicon Valley

Viennese IT company starts with software integration solution

Vienna (pts006/23.04.2013/08:00) – For its product Connect Bridge, the young Austrian company Connecting Software will have the opportunity to stay in Silicon Valley, California, for three months as part of the go-international internationalization offensive. Thomas Berndorfer, founder and Managing Director of Connecting Software: We are very pleased about this recognition and will use the three months intensively for discussions and negotiations on our further path into the future. In particular, our goal is to find excellent partners who use our product in their software integration projects in companies. At the same time, however, they want to maintain full self-financing and continue on the path taken so far. However, it is possible to set up a branch in order to better handle the interesting American market.

The idea for the revolutionary software connection product came to the founder from his own experience: We have found that small and medium-sized enterprises in particular are confronted with major problems in connecting the different software products. Here was clearly missing a connecting piece, which we have now created with our Connect Bridge. After about four years of development work, the company began marketing the new product in the summer of 2012. The still young success story has already brought various partnerships, for example with k.section and NAVAX on the Austrian market and the inclusion in the renowned and global business-critical SharePoint program from Microsoft.

Connect Bridge: The simple solution for software integration

In recent surveys among IT leaders, the problem of software integration is at the top of the list of challenges. The interaction of the software solutions, which have often grown over decades, and the ongoing maintenance of the interfaces between them is an immense cost factor for many companies.

“We address precisely this central problem area of modern IT and help the IT department to cope with the growing interfaces between software that has been in use for a long time and very current software products,” emphasises Berndorfer. The Connect Bridge allows you to quickly create synchronizations, integrations or workflows between software solutions. The integration effort between two software products decreases on average by 40 to 60 percent.

Another advantage of the solution is that all common software solutions from the last 20 years can be combined with modern solutions. The connection between cloud software and even maintained software is also easily possible. The trick here: ODBC, JDBC or REST WebServices can be any software of the last 20 years. The Connect Bridge consists of a very slim client part in the mentioned technologies and a server part, which makes common software SQL-capable via their well-defined and public interfaces using plugins. So you can access Microsoft Exchange, Sharepoint, Dynamics CRM, Dynamics NAV, Oracle, Bing, etc. with simple SQL queries and commands. Connectors for other integrations can also be developed themselves.

High award: Partner in the Business-Critical SharePoint Program

Microsoft’s SharePoint Server is a business platform for enterprise and web collaboration. However, as surveys in companies show, the functions of this technology are used far too little. Therefore, Microsoft launched the Business-Critical SharePoint program: We are very proud to have been included as a small Austrian company in this worldwide program. This proves the usefulness of our product for increasing efficiency in IT, says Berndorfer.

Especially companies with different business areas and associated different software solutions often struggle with the connection of these IT worlds in everyday life in order to increase the overall benefit for the company. Only by linking the information available in the systems can strategic decisions be made quickly, which helps to increase productivity and ROI (return on investment). “Our Connect Bridge significantly simplifies the connection of different software solutions with the SharePoint Server and helps companies to focus on their actual business tasks,” says the software integration expert. Strengthened by this award and the expertise it demonstrates, Berndorfer is looking forward to conveying the high economic benefits of the Connect Bridge not only in Silicon Valley.
