Today’s modern flat screens (TFTs) are low-depth monitors and therefore have a great advantage over the older, larger and heavier tube screens that were common a few years ago.
The term tube screen is misunderstood linguistically because these screens, like the TFT Monitore, are equipped with a flat, non-curved screen. Advantages of these obsolete screens are the long durability, the good black value, as well as the color representation independent of the viewing angle.
Disadvantages of the tube screens are, for example, the size and weight, the large storage space required for this, the high power consumption of 60 W (they are therefore real power guzzlers) and the problematic disposal of these old electronic devices.
