To convert audio files into MP3s, you need an encoder, for the development of which the Fraunhofer Institute is significantly responsible.
The settings of the quality of the converted file can be obtained via the MP3 icon. The encoder in the audio grabber only ensures a quality of 56 Kbit/s, this setting should be changed. The LAME encoder on the homepage of the audio grabber provides a remedy.
1. Go to www.audiograbber.de and click on the link “Download”
2. Find Lame.dll file and click on the download
3. Specify directory in the download window where the audio grabber was installed
4. Audiograbber restart, click MP3 icon
5. Select the LAME Encoder from the “Internet Encoder” pulldown menu
6. Better quality is now provided.
Note:
One should not “dig” below 128 Kbit/s to achieve CD quality.
