Send large amounts of data via Internet

Every now and then it may happen that you have to digitally send larger files such as private holiday films or company documents because the postal service is too expensive or it just takes too long.

Also the sending by e-mail usually does not work because the providers here have a sending and receiving block of usually over 10 MB.

With the following programs and services, you can easily upload large files to a cloud and then share them with friends or business partners.

Dropbox

Dropbox can be reached at www.dropbox.com and is a free service up to and including 2 GB, here you register on the website and can then download the software Dropbox, after the download is usually created in your own files or on the desktop a folder with which you can then upload documents.

With a simple right-click on a file or folder you then select the menu Dropbox from here the menu point Link share is available. After clicking on this menu item, the Dropbox website opens here you only have to enter the e-mail address of your friend or business partner, who will then receive an e-mail with a link to your uploaded file.

As another option of Dropbox you can also buy storage space here so you can also upload larger amounts of data e.g. as a backup.

Also for iOS and Android there is a manufacturer app which then also allows mobile access to the files, but for Office applications you should then buy an Office app.

Our conclusion: „Really great this service, it is easy and fast to use.“

Google Drive

Google Drive works similar to the Dropbox but has already 5 GB available after registration. Google Driver also creates a folder on the desktop, which is then synchronized with the Google Server. It is important that a Google user exists or must be registered.

Unfortunately, with Google Drive file sharing between friends and business partners is not so easy you have to log in here on the Google Drive website and then navigate to the file.

Also for iOS and Android there is a manufacturer app which then also allows mobile access to the files, but for Office applications you should then buy an Office app.

Our conclusion: „Not bad the service, but the integration into the Windows interface should be improved.“
