The interface of Video Pro X offers more engagement options than a simple editor. Nevertheless, the greatest quality gain is achieved through order, uniform project settings and controlled intermediate steps. This independent guide is restated and does not replace the official documentation.
Professionally structure project and media
Create separate folders for camera originals, sound, graphics, proxy files, project versions, and exports. Record frame rates, color spaces and audio values of the sources. Save the unchanged camera originals on a second disk.
Set master settings
Set up resolution and frame rate according to the main output format. When mixed material decides the desired master, not the first arbitrary clip. Before editing, check whether portrait, slow-motion or HDR recordings require separate treatment.
Sifting material and building sequences
Evaluate recordings and build selection sequences first. For longer productions, separate sequences per chapter are clearer; They can then be combined in a main structure. Use unique names instead of “Film 1” or “New”.
Precise cutting
First, set the image section before stacking complex effects. Use trim tools and short playback loops at critical transitions. During interviews, gaze direction, speaking pauses and reactions help when setting natural cuts.
Color correction in meaningful order
First, adjust exposure and white balance between cameras. This is followed by contrast and saturation; the creative look comes last. Control skin tones and avoid cropped lights or closed shadows. If possible, apply effects to logically grouped clips.
Mixing audio
Clean up language carefully, level up clip volumes and put music under it. Use automation or keyframes for level changes. Listen to the mix via headphones and regular speakers. A good mixture remains understandable even at low volume.
Export Master and Web Version
First export a high-quality master file, then smaller distribution versions. Control resolution, frame rate, audio samples and destination folders. Check start, multiple places in the middle and the end of the finished file; for important projects additionally the entire duration.
Archiving
Share your project file, used media, graphics, license credentials and the final master. Before archiving, check if external plug-ins or fonts would still be available later. For customer or team projects, version name and change date in the filename are helpful.
Official assistance
