SAS Forum Austria: Austrian companies awarded

City of Vienna, Vienna Insurance Group and Raiffeisen International receive award

Vienna (pts013/19.04.2013/12:10) – Two renowned Austrian companies were awarded the Best Performance Award at the SAS Forum Austria on Thursday. In doing so, SAS, one of the largest software manufacturers in the world, recognises the exemplary use of technologies for data analysis and corporate management. In addition, the City of Vienna received a prize for its long-term use of analytics. The SAS Forum Austria is one of the largest conferences for business analytics, took place for the fifth time in 2013 in Vienna and recorded a new visitor record. The main topic was the analysis of big data.

The winners:

In just eight months, the Vienna Insurance Group implemented SAS, a system with which they can determine risk factors for their subsidiaries against the background of the upcoming Solvency II regulations and determine an overall risk for the company.

Raiffeisen Bank International has standardized its risk management especially for retail business across national subsidiaries such as Hungary, Romania, Croatia and Albania – and has opted for an analytical framework from SAS.

For a partnership in the use and further development of analytical software that has been ongoing since 1981, the City of Vienna received the special Customer Loyalty Award from SAS. The Magistrate is one of SAS’s oldest clients in Austria and Europe and relies in particular on analytics to use contract management as a steering tool.
