First of all: the iP 5300 is now the 4th. CANON printer that stood here in the house and it will be the last. All devices were well maintained, did not stand around unused for days, nor were huge quantities printed. For all (!) the print quality fell sharply a few weeks / months after the expiry of the warranty period. With 2 of the printers, this could be fixed for some time with a complex cleaning of the print head, with the other two, also with the ip5300, which is next to me, did not help either. Now I would have to replace the print head (about 95 euros) and next there is trouble with the INK-WASTE-PAD.
No, I will not buy another CANON printer, I want a reliable printer that lasts many years and have painted the snout full of the cleaning procedures costing huge amounts of expensive ink and in the end hardly anything. Striking: in 3 of the 4 failures, it is CYAN, whose nozzles have partially failed, so the prints are usually strongly reddish. Text printing in S/W is still possible … but that would also make a needle printer.
