Review of E-Ten Glofiish X610

Foreword

When I was looking for a high-performance mobile phone in my trusted Saturn in February of this year, a man working there alerted me to the „E-Ten Glofiish X610“.
Although the phone was not a mobile phone, but a Pocket Phone, it looked in the glass case quite handsome and modern. It was also the last thing they had left.
On the packaging one saw an image showing the phone in GPS mode with a seemingly expensive program.
It promised the simplest operation with many functions at a „very cheap special price“ of only 179 euros.
The purchase was made…

First impression

The E-Ten Glofiish X610 made a pretty solid impression. The display is quite soft, yet has a stable and scratch-resistant appearance.
On the display side are five buttons and a cross that can be pressed in four directions.
On the left (viewed from the picture) are three buttons – two to regulate the volume and one to start the media player, as well as a headphone jack.
On the opposite side – the top to turn off the display/device and the bottom to start the photo software.
On the back are the lens, a small mirror, the speaker and the masking of the battery.

Functions
Camera: • The camera has 2 MP. Maybe a little for today.
• It automatically sharpens the image.
• The pixel size is freely selectable in three stages.
• It would have been nice if a flashlight had been integrated.
Internet: • Internet can be obtained in two ways. Once through the Wi-Fi adapter and once through GPRS.
• Surfing with a browser. The installed Internet Explorer can not be used, because it can not display the Internet pages. I would recommend the installation of „Skyfire“.
MP3 Players:
* The „MP3 Player“ is the well-known Windows Media Player. Of course, the use of alternative software is also free for everyone, which I would also recommend, since shcon alone setting a folder as a library is complicated.
The rechargeable battery spoils here so every fun on this Pocket Phone.
Because what good is a GPS, Windows Mobile, MP3 player and co., if you can not use them properly?
The fact is that the loaded(!!!) Battery lasts only 2 to a maximum of 3 hours with activated Wi-Fi, and such a thing must not be in my opinion.
If you are extremely economical with the battery, i.e. the display and switches everything off (Wi-Fi, etc.), the battery has a fabulous running time of a maximum of (!!!) 8 hours. In this respect, it should be noted that when the display is deactivated, the accessibility is equal to zero. The caller can then talk to the mailbox.
Telephone calls:
Since the E-Ten Glofiish X610 is more of a pocket phone with a Windows operating system, calling and texting is quite easy. However, the menu guide to the contact list is slightly misleading.
You can save your acquaintances and friends in Outlook contacts (email, mobile, landline, etc.).
The phone call itself is quite normal for E-Ten Glofiish X610 owners, so you understand his interlocutor perfectly.
And now comes the BUT: the interlocutor hears himself during the entire conversation. Not a word remains unrepeated. Thus, a normal phone call is not guaranteed and makes the phone unusable for me. Through research on the Internet, I managed to get the information that the Echo was a manufacturing defect.
In addition, there is another shortcoming:
I currently live as a student in a prefabricated building on the first floor. I have heard many times from my friends that they have tried to reach me, which unfortunately I only noticed a few hours later when I received messages of missed calls.
I thought that a radio hole would be to blame because of the construction of the building. But when I saw how easily friends of mine were on the phone, my idea focused on my dear E-Ten Glofiish X610. I used various sim cards with different providers and checked if I could call myself from the landline … in vain.

GPS:
* No navigation software is preinstalled here. Only a positioning software with a compass and cruise control is included. A nice thing if you are bored on the tram.
Windows Mobile:
As I said, this is a complete mobile operating system that allows the user to install various programs.
However, this is not always easily feasible, many applications require the Java script. Basically, it is in the instructions that the phone supports Java, but in practice it looks different.
I had to do a lot of research until I had an appropriate solution to get certain programs up and running. In addition, there is a lack of official support for software. Other mobile users with other companies (Samsung, Nokia, etc.) can easily download and install Java without having to go to any private developer sites.
Programs like Word or Excel are pre-installed and also work perfectly, which is also very nice if there were not this battery problem.

Conclusion

For me, this phone cannot be used due to the serious errors. I don’t want to have to plug in the device somewhere every time I come home to keep it on. I don’t buy a mobile radio for that.
E-Ten has cost-effectively produced a device with severe defects, completely to the annoyance of customers.
I clearly do not recommend a purchase here, because the device promises neither comfort nor quality.
I hope I have helped with my report.
