Optical Character Recognition (OCR) enables PCs or laptops to capture text in images and also in photos via the integrated search function.
1. Click start icon – Click system control
2. Selection of the category “Programs” – “Activate or deactivate Windows functions”
3. Activation “Windows TIFF filter” – click “Ok”
To include these TIFF files in the search index, it must be recreated.
- “Start/System Control” – “Indication Options”
- Selection „Extended“
- Advanced Options dialog box – Index Settings tab
- “Recreate” – this process can take different lengths of time
Only images stored in TIFF format can be found written. Indexing TIFF files can minimally slow down indexing of files.
