CRC error of hard drive repair

What is a CRC error? CRC error means that an error occurred during the cyclic redundancy check of a hard drive. A part of a read file on the hard drive does not give the expected value and thus indicates a damaged hard drive.

How to fix the CRC error on your hard drive:

  1. “Start” button and then click “Computer”
  2. Right click on faulty hard drive – “Properties”
  3. Click on “Tools”
  4. Under „Error verification“ you will find „Check now“, click
  5. In the “Error verification” menu, select “Automatically correct file system errors” and “Find/Recover faulty sectors”
  6. In the “Error Check” window click “Start” and start error checking and repair
  7. When asked „Do you want to perform the error check the next time the computer boots up?“ Answer ‘Yes’
  8. Then restart the computer.
